Illinois Requirement Detail for Broker Real Estate Post-Licensing Education

30-Hours of Post License Education is required for: Brokers renewing for the FIRST TIME. If this is the FIRST renewal for your Broker license you are required to complete the 30-Hours of Post License education prior to renewing your license.

Hours Required By The State: 

30 hours

  • Broker Post License Topics (15 Hrs.)
  • Broker Post License Applied Real Estate Practices-Interactive (15 Hrs.)

Note: This 30-hour program includes a 15-hour fully online course and a 15-hour interactive webinar course. We recommend that the interactive course be scheduled at least one month in advance since it is a live course offered on a limited basis. Scheduling details are located within the course.

Final Exam Instructions: 

Each course, except the 15-hour interactive webinar, contains a final exam.  A minimum score of 70% is required to pass the final exam and can be taken as many times as needed to pass.  The 15-hour interactive webinar course does not have a final exam, but does require student participation and reported attendance by the webinar instructor. 



Real estate course completions are reported to PSI. 

Expiration Date of Course:

The CE Shop’s post-licensing course in Illinois will expire 1 year after the date of purchase. The CE Shop will allow students to purchase a new course at a 50% discount of the current retail price of the new course. Each individual course will have an expiration date listed in the student’s account.


Upon completion of the course, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic certificate of completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies. Please refer to your license application to determine if you need to submit your certificate of completion with your license request. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date of your certificate of completion will reflect this.
